Case Study

Our client identified the need to implement an interim Project Controls System to support the management of the program of works in addition to being able to assist their future planning.  In 2012 we were approached to develop and implement an Excel-based Project Tracking solution. They had been looking to implement a Project Management System (PPM) to support its AUD$1billion+ portfolio of projects.  Our solution was an interim measure to help prepare for a PPM system installation.

The key deliverables of the project included:

  • Analyse the current and required data structures
  • Gather the required data
  • Design the Excel Tool in line with client project procedures, and Project Controls best practice
  • Build the fully customisable Excel Project Controls Tool
  • Migrate data to the Project Controls Tool
  • Conduct reconciliation activities on the data to ensure data integrity
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Preparation of user documentation to assist the transfer of knowledge
  • Conduct training of key staff
  • Implement the Project Controls Tool
  • Delivery of Excel based Project Control system
  • Migration of existing project data into the Excel tool
  • Follow-up support
